Keraflex Extra S1 is a flexible adhesive cement made of a gray or white powder, composed of cement and fine-grained sands. It contains a high amount of synthetic resins and special additives, according to a formula developed in MAPEI's research laboratories.

CARACTERISTICS

Keraflex Extra S1 mixed with water, forms a mortar with the following characteristics:

Formulation characteristics.

  • Easy workability
  • Highly thixotropic: Keraflex Extra S1 can be applied on a vertical surface without sagging and without risk of tile slippage; therefore, the tiles can be installed from top to bottom without the need for crosspieces.
  • Good capacity to absorb differential deformations between the tiling and the substrate.

RECOMMENDATIONS

.

Do not use Keraflex Extra S1 in the following cases:

.

  • On wood and wood conglomerates.
  • On metal, rubber, PVC and linoleum surfaces
  • On natural stone.
  • On moisture-sensitive natural stone
  • On moisture-sensitive natural stone
  • On concrete subject to strong movements
  • On concrete subject to strong movements

APPLICATION FIELDS

Gluing, both indoors and outdoors, of ceramic tiles of all types and sizes (tiles, terracotta tiles, porcelain stoneware) and natural stone, (provided they are not sensitive to moisture), on vertical and horizontal surfaces that can undergo deformations, and on rough supports and plasters, without prior leveling, up to a thickness of 15 mm. It is also suitable for spot-gluing insulating materials such as expanded polystyrene, fiberglass and rock wool, Eraclit® (cement-bonded particleboard), acoustic insulation panels, etc.

Some examples of applications

Gluing ceramic tiles (double-fired, single-fired, porcelain, clinker, etc.) and stone tiles (provided they are not sensitive to humidity) on conventional substrates that may suffer deformations, such as:

  • Cement slabs, even with underfloor heating systems
  • Cement slabs, including underfloor heating systems
  • Anhydrite screeds, previously treated with Primer G or Eco Prim T
  • Cement screeds, even with underfloor heating installations
  • Cement renders, or lime and cement mortar renders
  • Single-layer gypsum plasters
  • Plaster panels, as long as they are firmly fixed
  • Ceramic and stone tiles over existing pavements (ceramic, marble, etc.)
  • Installation of pavements subjected to heavy traffic
