Mape-Antique Rinzaffo is a cement-free, pre-mixed, powdered plastering mortar composed of lime and Eco-Puzolana, natural sands, special additives and micro-fibers, according to a formula developed in MAPEI's research laboratories. Based on the EN 998-1 standard, the product is classified as GP: "Plastering mortar for ordinary use", Category CS IV.

CARACTERISTICS

.

  • Mape-Antique Rinzaffo, after mixing with water, to be carried out in a continuous-mix plastering machine or in a concrete mixer, becomes a breathable, salt-resistant, semi-fluid plastering mortar, easily worked by machine or trowel, both on vertical surfaces and on ceilings.
  • Mape-Antique Rinzaffo, applied as a first coat in the creation of dehumidifying, breathable and "structural" plasters, improves adhesion, uniforms the absorption of the substrate and slows down the transfer of salts.
  • Mortars made with Mape-Antique Rinzaffo have very similar characteristics, in terms of mechanical resistance, elastic modulus and porosity, to those of mortars based on lime, lime and pozzolan or hydraulic lime, originally used in the construction of buildings.
  • However, compared to these mortars, Mape-Antique Rinzaffo has properties that give the product greater resistance to various chemical-physical aggressions such as, for example, the presence of soluble salts, freeze-thaw cycles, the washing action of rainwater, the alkali-acid reaction and the appearance of plastic shrinkage cracks.
  • Some typical values, referring to the main characteristics, both in the fresh and hardened state, of Mape-Antique Rinzaffo, are indicated in the technical data table (in the sections Application Data and Final Performance).

AIMPORTANT VIEWS

.

  • In the presence of capillary rising damp and soluble salts, apply Mape-Antique Rinzaffo in a layer approx. 5 mm thick, before applying the macroporous dehumidifying plaster (Mape-Antique MC, Mape-Antique CC or Mape-Antique LC mixed with aggregates of suitable granulometry)
  • In the presence of particularly difficult walls, such as stone and mixed, porous or mechanically weak walls, use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as a first coat, both to improve the adhesion of the plaster to be applied later and to uniform the absorption of the masonry.
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as a mortar for pouring into the formwork (use Mape-Antique LC, mixed with aggregates of suitable grain size).
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as a consolidation grout for injection into structures (use Mape-Antique I or Mape-Antique F21).
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as a consolidation grout for injection into structures (use Mape-Antique I or Mape-Antique F21).
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo for plastering.
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo for plastering.
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo to make bond coats between masonry elements (use Mape-Antique Allettamento or Mape-Antique Strutturale NHL).
  • Do not use Mape-Antique Rinzaffo to make bond coats between masonry elements (use Mape-Antique Allettamento or Mape-Antique Strutturale NHL).
  • Do not add additives, cement or other binders (lime and gypsum) to Mape-Antique Rinzaffo.
  • Do not apply Mape-Antique Rinzaffo at temperatures below +5° C.

APPLICATION FIELDS

. Sanitation of masonry walls degraded by the presence of capillary rising damp, in existing buildings including those of historical and artistic value Sanitation of masonry walls degraded by the presence of capillary rising damp, in existing buildings including those of historical and artistic value. Sanitation of masonry degraded by the disintegrating action caused by salt concentrations. Reconstruction of old lime-based plasters, degraded by atmospheric agents and environmental conditions, as well as by the passage of time. Reconstruction of breathable and "structural" plasters, when the masonry is mechanically weak or particularly difficult

Some application examples

.

Mape Antique Rinzaffo should be used as a first coat, in the realization of:

. Dehumidifying and macro-porous plasters, in interiors and/or exteriors, on existing masonry walls affected by capillary rising damp. Dehumidifying plasters on stone, brick, tuff and mixed masonry walls where salt efflorescence is present. Dehumidifying plasters on stone, brick, tuff and mixed masonry walls where salt efflorescence is present. Dehumidifying plastering on masonry walls placed in lagoon areas or close to the sea. Dehumidifying plastering on masonry walls placed in lagoon areas or close to the sea. Construction of new dehumidifying plasters or reconstruction of existing lime-based ones, on stone, brick, tuff and mixed masonry walls, even in buildings listed as of historical and artistic value by the Administration. Breathable and "structural" plasters on particularly difficult masonry walls such as, for example, stone or mixed porous or mechanically weak walls.
