CARACTERISTICS

CARACTERISTICS

.

Mapegrout T40, after its hardening, has the following qualities:

  • medium mechanical strength, in bending and compression
  • elastic modulus, coefficient of thermal expansion and coefficient of water vapor permeability, similar to those of a medium quality concrete.
  • water permeability
  • optimum adhesion to old concrete, provided that it has been previously moistened with water, and to reinforcing bars, especially if they have been treated with Mapefer or Mapefer 1K.

AM IMPORTANT VIEWS

  • Do not apply Mapegrout T40 in repairs of structures subjected to high compressive loads or heavy wear and abrasion: it is preferable to use Mapegrout Tissotropic or Mapegrout T60.
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 when it is necessary to pump the material over long distances or notable heights (use Mapegrout Easy Flow)
  • Do not apply Mapegrout T40 on smooth concrete substrates: this creates a strong roughness on the surface and adds possible contrasting reinforcements
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 on smooth concrete substrates: this creates a strong roughness on the surface and adds possible contrasting reinforcements
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 for anchors (use Mapefill or Mapefill R)
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 for anchors (use Mapefill or Mapefill R)
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 for additions by casting in formwork (use Mapegrout Colabile)
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 for additions by pouring in formwork (use Mapegrout Colabile)
  • Do not add cement or additives to Mapegrout T40
  • Do not add water when using Mapegrout Colabile.
  • Do not add water when the mixture has started to set.
  • Do not apply Mapegrout T40 at temperatures below +5 °C
  • Do not apply Mapegrout T40 at temperatures below +5 °C.
  • Do not use Mapegrout T40 if the sack is damaged or has been opened previously

APPLICATION FIELDS

.

Cortical repair of deteriorated concrete structures, on vertical or horizontal surfaces, with mortar of average mechanical performance

Some examples of application

  • Repair of degraded areas of concrete, edges of columns, beams and balcony fronts, damaged by rusting of the reinforcing iron.
  • Regularization of diaphragm walls and galleries
  • Recovering of piping and hydraulic works
  • Reconstruction of the coating of iron reinforcement in reinforced concrete structures
  • Reconstruction of the coating of iron reinforcement in reinforced concrete structures
  • Regularization of surface defects such as gravel nests, concreting joints, holes in formwork spacers, outcropping of ironwork, etc.
  • Filling of rigid joints
