Sikacim Fibers 6 is a specially treated multifilament polypropylene fiber designed and produced for use in concrete and mortars. It comes in the form of multifilament polypropylene composite rovings with a surfactant. It is distributed randomly within the concrete or mortar mass forming a very uniform three-dimensional network.

.

CARACTERISTICS

The addition of this product reduces surface shrinkage cracking in mortars and replaces the reinforcement intended to absorb the stresses that occur during the setting and hardening of the concrete, providing the following advantages:

  • Reduction of shrinkage cracking and preventing its propagation.
  • Significant increase in the concrete toughness index
  • Improves impact resistance, reducing brittleness
  • To a lesser extent, it improves tensile and compressive strength

The action is purely physical, not affecting cement hydration.

Technical Data

Technical Data

    • Chemical composition: Polypropylene fibers
    • Water absorption: None
    • Modulus of elasticity: 15,000 kg/cm2
    • Extension at break: 80 - 140 %

MODE OF EMPLOYMENT

Instructions for application

It is added, in plant or on site, by adding the closed bag directly to the concrete mixer at any time during mixing, but never directly
on the water before adding the rest of the components. Once added, it is sufficient to prolong the mixing for at least 5 minutes. After this
time, the bag will break down when it comes into contact with the alkaline medium of the concrete.

.

It is preferably used in mortars, micro-concretes and concretes with a maximum aggregate size of less than 15 mm.

CONSUMPTION

1 bag of 150 g per bag of cement

Consumption

600 g/m3

Application Notes/Limitations

  • It does not reduce the traceability of the concrete, although by visual observation it may appear to do so.
  • It does not replace the main and secondary reinforcement resulting from the design
  • Do not add directly to the mixing water
  • Never add directly to the mixing water
  • The addition does not prevent cracks resulting from bad dimensioning
  • Additive water does not prevent cracks resulting from bad dimensioning
  • The addition is compatible with any other Sika admixture
