Sika MonoTop®-107 Seal is a one-component semi-flexible waterproofing mortar based on cement and modified polymers. Sika MonoTop®-107 is used as a protective coating.

APPLICATIONS

It can be used with or without reinforcement, on concrete, mortar, stone, fiber cement supports and is indicated for:

  • Waterproofing of tanks, swimming pools, canals, etc.

  • Interior waterproofing in basements

  • Exterior waterproofing of buried walls

  • Repair and protection of surfaces exposed to the action of ice and deicing salts: bridge parapets, terrace and roof overhangs, cornices, etc.

  • Protection of concrete structures in marine environments

  • Waterproofing of drinking water tanks

  • Sika MonoTop®-107 Seal can be used to protect concrete structures:
    • Suitable for protection against penetration (Principle 1, method 1.3 of UNE-EN 1504-9)
    • Suitable for humidity control (Principle 2, method 2.2 of UNE-EN 1504-9).

    • Suitable to increase resistance (Principle 8, method 8.2 of UNE-EN 1504-9)

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Easy mixing and application

  • Good resistance to ozone. Slightly flexible compared to normal mortar

Application Details

  • Consumption/Dosage:
    • A minimum of 2 layers are required, and it may be necessary to go up to 3 in areas with extremely strong leaks. As indicative data: For protection against frost: 2 kg/m2 and layer
    • For waterproofing; depending on the height of the water column:
      • With H < 1 m.: up to 1.5 kg/m2 and layer
      • With H > 1 m.: up to 2 kg/m2 and layer
      • The maximum consumption per layer must not exceed 4 kg/m2 (2 mm thickness)
  • Quality of the support: The support must be healthy, clean, free of grease, oil and poorly adhered parts, surface grout and as uniform as possible.
  • Support Preparation/Primer
  • If necessary, the support must be prepared by mechanical means
  • The absorbent supports will be previously moistened until saturation, avoiding waterlogging and starting to apply Sika MonoTop®-107 Seal when the surfaces acquire a matte appearance.
  • Conditions of Application/Limitations
  • Support temperature min.+ 5°C/ max. +35o C
  • Ambient temperature min.+ 5°C./ max. +35o C
  • Mixed: ~ 4.5 l of water per 25 kg bag
  • Mixing time: Kneading will be carried out preferably using a low speed electric mixer. To do this, pour the necessary amount of water into a container with a wide mouth and bottom, gradually add Sika MonoTop®-107 Seal and mix for 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
