Makita's 6.0Ah battery, model BL1860, combines longer run time with a class-leading charge time of only 55 minutes, so you're on the job longer and spend less time at the charger. For added convenience, it also features an on-board L.E.D. charge level indicator to monitor the charge level.

The 18V 6.0Ah LXT® battery is only compatible with tools that have Star Protection, indicated by the Star™ Symbol and/or the Yellow Battery Receptor under the tool.There are more than 125 Makita cordless tools with Star Protection and more on the way.

Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries resist self-discharge so they're ready even after long periods of storage. Makita's Optimum Fast Charger (sold separately) is an intelligent charging system that communicates with the battery during the charging process to monitor current, voltage and temperature. This advanced charging technology helps optimize battery life and provides faster charging. In addition, the charger has an integrated fan to cool the battery for faster and more efficient charging even in hot weather conditions.

For improved performance and extended life, Makita created Computer Star™ Protection controls. The Protection Star™ is communication technology that allows the tool and battery to exchange real-time data and monitor their conditions during use to protect against overcharging, over-discharging and overheating.
